🙋🏽 he wouldn't latch and finally tried the nipple shield but just gonna stick to pumping
No. He took to the boob just fine. With preemie's they say it's harder but he's been an easy baby. My little guy was born at 29 weeks and we got to practice nurse for the first time around 32-33 weeks and he latched on perfectly (well, as well as he could with a tiny mouth), and with every practice session after that he latched on perfectly so it was pretty easy to get him on the boob, and even now he can go back and forth between boob and bottle with no nipple confusion.
Cool @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom :) Was it hard to transition to breastfeeding?
@suez, I had latch troubles as well. The first night and day she did well, but after that she had troubles. Sometimes I think I should put more effort into nursing, but we like doing pump/bottle, so we're gonna stick with that.
