The risk of listeria is so small. You have just as much risk eating fruits and veggies. I wouldn't recommend eating a sandwich everyday, but have one every so often you'll be fine.
I don't eat sandwich meat either. Unless it's been heated. Even though there's a small chance, it's a chance I wasn't willing to take. Yes it can be on fruits and veggies, but hopefully by rinsing them, gets rid of it. I just don't trust sandwich meats especially at subway.. Only because they're not in a fridge constantly. I worked at a subway, and I just don't trust their method of keeping meat cold on the table. π£ atleast while pregnant.
@cubanese @arivera64 @jessicasharp @atw2016 it's just something I'd always hear before I was ever pregnant, and my doctor told me to stay away from it. I've heard the risks are small but after having had a miscarriage I'm a little more on edge about things unfortunately. I might just eat it this one time though so I can stop thinking about itπ
It's not worth the risk!! No matter how small the risk is! Go for a veggie sammy! I eat veggie sandwiches all the time. Bread, mayo, provolone, cucumber, onions and put a little Italian vinaigrette on it! So yummy! πππ»
Remember that even veggies from subway can be cross contaminated with the meats. Trust me I've worked at a subway and not all the employees follow the code. Bad hand washing and glove changing risks listeria contamination with all their foods.

You can do so sparingly. Also, you can get it toasted. I just had a cold turkey sub today for lunch. So you're fine.

I've done it twice since I got pregnant. My doctor said it was fine (I worried I'd hurt my baby!!) since I had only done it twice.
