I've heard being up on your feet and moving around helps a lot. I've been watching a prenatal class on YouTube and the teacher there shows some really smart exercises you can do every day to loosen up your pelvis and help the baby get out of there better when the time comes, and she says that having sex (especially without pulling out) can soften your cervix, as well as standing and walking often. Hope this helps!! I once saw a really cute video of a pregnant mommy "dancing into labor." Just shakin her booty to tell that little one it's time to come out!!
