Today I had to tell my ex there will be no way he can take our kid for visits unless I am there...until there is a document stating the visitation schedule. I also had to break the news to him that no judge would approve overnight stays until shes completely through breastfeeding. He told me it was "unfair". If I don't have a visitation schedule set and approved by the courts he could get up one day and leave the state with our daughter...and I couldn't do anything about it because I willingly gave her to him...last time I checked thats completely fair I told him he could spend a whole day with her but I would be there...Is that truly unfair?

Does he have a drug issue, drinking issue, is he a danger? If not, he shouldn't need to be babysat while he spends time with his child

@arivera64, he's got a lot of issues... drinking mainly.

It isn't unfair, in my opinion. Like you said, he can leave the state. However, I do think you should start a new trust relationship with him.

then no it isn't unfair to want supervised visits

@mlgh92, hard to trust someone who was accused of molesting his other daughter...unfortunately I didn't find this out till after we broke up and I was already 3 months pregnant

I understand. I don't think it's unfair then. He needs to be supervised.

My cousin has fought for a very long time with her BD about custody. Unless it is supervised, it doesn't matter if you have a court order or not. He was given weekends and every Wednesday, he still ran off with her kids, constantly, and the police said it was just a dispute and they would have to get along and talk through it but they could not go take the kids from him unless she could prove that he is a threat or dangerous. She finally just had to build a trust bond with him. Her other son and his dad have supervised visitation, so he is not allowed to go far with him at all.

I w#ont let my hubby have overnights visits with my son if I can get courts cooperation. He ran off with my son so many times and not telling me where going or when coming back
