Thanks! Loved that necklace so I wanna get one. And I was group strep b positive, but my labor went so fast when I got to the hospital that the meds didn't have enough time to kick in. I got to the hospital at 12:40pm and he was born at 3:32pm 3 hrs later and the antibiotics needed to be given to me 4 hrs before. So when they did blood work on him in the night his white blood cell count was high so that's a sign of infection so they immediately took him to the nicu and put him on a 10 day antibiotic. The antibiotics worked so he gets his last dose this afternoon and they will discharge him in the night hopefully from what I was told. He also has acid reflux so he is coming home with an apnea monitor. Did your baby have one of those too? Because I really want someone's perspective that's had a baby come home with one of those monitors. It's kinda scary thinking he might stop breathing while sleeping 😫

@vivalakats, ohh okay, makes sense as to why they wanted to treat him! Thank goodness they caught that. And it's so awesome that he gets to come home today! Yes, my baby came home with an apnea monitor (Respironix brand) because he had Bradycardia, where hi a heart rate would drop very, very low and he would forget to breathe. It was incredibly scary. He was on the monitor until he was 3 months old because the pulmonologist wanted to make sure there were no episodes where he truly stopped breathing. He also has acid reflux and is on zangac twice a day. The monitor's can be scary at first but they at very reassuring. Loose leads are usually the reason the monitor goes off, so if you hear it, don't panic. My best advice is to pay close attention to the training and practice with the monitor as much as possible!

Oh okay idk what brand ours is I just see at the front it says (smart monitor 2), we've had him home with it since we left the hospital at 5pm and it hasn't gone off yet and I hope it stays like that too because I'm sure I'll still freak out if it goes off lol.. We don't see the specialist for that until 1 month and we're also gonna see the gastroenterologist in 1 month to let us know if he'll be put on zantac. But I'm so glad that your baby boy is doing great now! I just can't wait to be done with this monitor (it's what's going to freak me out the most)

the Smart Monitor 2 is the same one he was on, so if you have any questions, be sure to ask me ☺ I'm sure your little man will be perfectly okay. Keep him upright for 30 minutes after every feeding, and then you can lay him in his bed..That worked a lot for us, along with the medicine.
