Anyone not having the whooping cough jab? .. I don't fancy it, I never got it with my son and he's perfectly fine x
I didn't have it with my son and not having it this time either... my sons only just turnt 4 and apparently whooping coff was at its peak in 2012 when he was born aswell and I still wasn't offered... everyone has different views on certain jabs it's totally dow to u at the end of the day... xx
@linzi_duffie, that's why we're all on this app, means when we don't get any advice from midwives/docs we can ask each other :) xx
@jodi303, @natroberts88 @tiasohi1 thank you girls for your information, I didn't know any of this what so ever, like I said not one of my midwifes had told me about it at all xx
It's had a huge increase in the past year ... Just because one child is fine without it doesn't mean the next will be too. There are minimal side effects and no research suggesting any effects on children apart from protection against something that can kill them. **personal opinion**
its taken a massive rise in the past few years i dont know how many have been fatal here in the UK but its so horrible to see a child so young go through it. wouldnt wish it on anyone seriously. As @natroberts88 said it protects your newborn up til they can get their jabs at 8 weeks. its worth getting it
To be honest, I'm asking as not one midwife has told me about it, that's why I didn't think it was as important as the other jabs. Clearly I thought wrong. X
@natroberts88, it's not that I don't want to have it, I just dont much about it as I never had it with my son, like they never offered it with my son is what I mean X
@linzi_duffie, it protects you and your unborn child & will protect your child until they have their jabs at 8 weeks. You don't have to have it but as @jod1303 said why wouldn't you want to? Xx
I've just had my whooping cough jab last week, had mine a little late. But at least when my baby is here she will have a little bit of protection. Takes 5minutes and totally worth it.
