they gave me injections before they confirmed blood clot whilst pregnant and told me that it had no effect on he baby. some people have to take it their entire pregnancy.

That's clexane injections which are fine for baby but for some reason they've decided to side with warfarin with me which isn't great 😟

They probably have a strong belief that you do have a clot and in those circumstances they will always put you before the baby. They should have spoken to you before hand though. Have you had a word with them about it? x

Im on it for life and has no harm what so ever on the baby

On warfarin? @nikki946 .. It's said to have serious risks to the baby. Check NHS website X

I'm clexane injections which basically is warfarin just in another form they all blood thinner I been taken mine since the start and will have to for the rest of my life, I know it scary but it better get better with the stuff what happens if it goes to your lung or worse your brajn xx

Aw yeah no clexane is fine though, as it doesn't pass the placenta. Warfarin does xx

I take fragmin which is a low molecular weight heparin every day - I did through my last pregnancy and had the blood clot dosages too at 12000 units once a day. My last baby was fine as if this one. And up till I got an ulcer I was also on aspirin daily as well. All of fine. Blood clot is more serious than any injection of a blood thinner

Don't get me wrong I understand that it's worth the risk if I do have one, but the thing that's bothering me most is that they are administering it as a precaution and without actual cause... Therefore may be an unnecessary risk! Just wish they would check and make sure before they take risks that could harm baby :(

It's hard to confirm@without u having a vq scan which is horrific an hell! I breathe new radio active gas and radio active injections. The d-dimer test is often not completely conclusive either but can be raised with a clot but not massively high. Taking the warfarin is less risk than having a clot or the other invasive tests. They are both blood thinners. Only risky around birth due to risk of blood loss.

Have to weight it up. . Risk of blood clot = risk of heart attack. Or risk of medication. .
