Ladies. Nothing erks me more than people who so willing agree to induction. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times - if there is a medical reason causing an absolute need, then OF COURSE I understand and pray for a fast, safe delevery for you and baby! However, your due date can be off by 2 weeks! 2! So, let's say you're in week 37, and you feel like it's all fine and the perfect time to have that precious baby...you could actually only be 35 weeks along. Do you know just how much development and growth inside the womb that child needs? A LOT. I carried for two days shy of 42 weeks. I know pain. I had a 9lb+ baby. I had swelling, and back pain, and couldn't fit into even my underwear. I gained 60lbs! I get it. But, you're only pregnant for 40/42 weeks. IF YOU'RE LUCKY. Cherish those weeks. Let that baby grow where they are SAFE. There are thousands of women praying and crying right now for conception. There are thousands of women who cannot carry to term. Honor them. You're blessed with a working, healthy body. Grow that baby!

@_stayingparkerstrong_, oh my goodness!! That's so scary! If you don't mind, I'm going to use your story to a "friend" of mine at work. This is exactly what scares me about inductions. :/

@_stayingparkerstrong_, but I understand you're need for one because of the preeclampsia, of course!

@jennatess, go ahead. It was the worse experience of my life. Pregnancy wasn't easy for me. It actually was the hardest thing ever. I went into preterm labor at 21 weeks (so really 19) & then during labor he almost died from being choked by his chord. We never spent time in the NICU because everything was fine ( besides he wasn't eating much because he had no suck/swallow reflex ) until we got home. Then he stopped eating all together, started vomiting every feed & almost stopped breathing. We were admitted when he was 2 weeks old for a week & he was diagnosed with severe food allergies to milk, corn , soy proteins, so breast feeding was out of the picture /: & we started medical formula. Then we were back at the hospital a few week later for another week when he was diagnosed with a possible digestive disorder. At 4 months old he was diagnosed with gastroparesis ( gastric relayed emptying ). He's now almost 14 months & has spent more time at the hospital & specialist appointments then I'd like to admit 🙁

I've already told my doctor I won't be induced unless I have to for medical reasons before my due date, but I won't do it before just because, I'll wait till after my due date. I've never been induced before, and I always let my baby's come on their own, my oldest came two days late and my youngest three days early. and they both were 9+pounds! but again, these ladies will still do it regardless of what anyone says because they only want what they want, not what's best for the baby.
