have one picked out though. I was told my son couldn't leave until I had one picked out

I got mine before. Picked one out prior to being induced. When I had my baby since her doctor I picked was out of the state they had one of her colleagues fill in during my birth. My OB office wanted me to pick her daughter when I was 26 weeks but I waited until 38 weeks to do my research. @mommyale3

my hospital gave me temporary one when we left after the first visit we found our own. but you could probably find your own before just to be safe.

I would do it before and call the office so you can meet with them to ask them questions.

I didnt have one with my first picked out, so my OB used the pediatrician that they refer. Worst decision of my life. Pick a doctor before because they have to visit the baby in the hospital, then schedule an appointment before you leave the hospital with that same doctor. I ended up switching after the first appointment. She kept wanting to run all these extra tests, and schedule all these special appointments because his temp was 1 degree higher than average. She even kept talking about my insurance and how they pay her for it, and I dont have to worry about it. She just wanted money. When I switched, I finally had a doctor that told me my little man was perfectly healthy, and had been since. Sorry for the long story lol

you can pick one out yourself before you have the baby or you can go with the one the hospital gives you(the doctor has to come check the baby before you're allowed to leave the hospital)
