Do infants go through depression? My son is 7 weeks old and as of today I can't be out of his sight, or put him down. Any other day I put him down after feedings and don't hold him too much. And he is fine. But today he has been crying and screaming his head off If I do either of those.

It's not depression is separation anxiety. A lot of babes go through it!

@lilanne1927, @valerie_jean I am home with him 24/7 and whenever I go anywhere so does he. I thought that only happened when separated from a parent for a duration of time.

What I'm going through is Andrew will be fine for 20 minutes after he eats but anything longer he starts to scream. When everybody is at work he screams anytime I lay him down for literally 2 minutes. Most infants go through separation anxiety. I'm with both my kids 24/7 my 3 yr old use to be the same way until he got mobile around 6 months old. It doesn't last forever but with some baby's it can go up to 5 yrs of age.
