False contractions actually feel just like real contractions a lot of the time. The only difference is they're inconsistent and don't get any worse as time goes by. Real contractions are spaced out basically evenly and get stronger and closer together.

Braxton hicks feels like your entire stomach gets really tight/hard for 15-45 seconds (usually) and then it goes away. It doesn't hurt, but it can be uncomfortable.

And there are no "dumb" questions while you're pregnant.😊 I've had three kids (pregnant with my fourth) and I'm still asking questions all the time.

Yep, those sound like Braxton hicks. They're not super fun, but not horrible. They're preparing your body for the real thing.
