ladies, I need some advice my Lil guy will be 2weeks tomorrow and he has been really constipated…

Breastfed or formula fed?

prune juice usually helped my daughter but she's formula fed

formula fed I can't breastfeed because my breast get engorged and my milk ducts get clogged

@ngujen, prune juice is OK to give him if he's just 2weeks old? how much an ounce or what

I would give her 1 oz!

how long has it been since he's had a bowel movement? my daughter would go 3-5 days before having one sometimes.

1 ounce of prune juice one of water

@ngujen, he had one but hardly nothing comes out. that was last night. but I'm going to try the prune juice see if it helps

Together, you're just diluting the juice (:

Be careful giving a two week old water or juice. It's totally normal for a baby not to poop for up to a week. Try a warm bath with a little Epsom salt, pumping his legs, and rubbing his tummy in a circular motion. If he seems completely miserable try a little pedialax enema or a saline enema. . Sounds invasive but it's like taking a rectal temp. Hope your baby poops soon!

@forever223, thank you he's been doing a little better. but I wanted to ask if I need to buy him the enema where do they sell them??? and as far as the water I was told by the pediatrician at the hospital to give him about an ounce.

You can buy them at Walgreens, Walmart, Safeway, pretty much any grocery/drug store! 😊 my baby eats around 2oz per feeding at 3 weeks old (hard to measure exactly how much) so an ounce of water just seemed like a little much to me. . Like half of a feeding, and their bodies can't process straight water and juices this young.. That's the only reason I said anything. I'm sure as long as your pediatrician says it's okay though obviously they know what they're doing! Glad your baby is feeling a little better!! ❤️
