Why do hospitals give those big green ugly pacifiers? Just curious, I see a lot of newborn babies with those. Is that just what they give, are they recommended , can u take ur own?

You can take your own and might want to just in case. I know a lot of hospitals around my area don't give out pacifiers anymore

I've read that they're "safer" because they're one piece not plastic attached to the nipple which can apparently come off and be a choking hazard. Crazy I know but I guess it's happened before.

That was the only paci my niece and nephew would take lol a lot of babies like them the most

Lol I like them..I heard they were safer and my twins lover them..I even went out and bought different color ones from target
