that is awesome and i dont mind at all! i wanted to chat with military wives that have gone through what beginning to go through for marriage, like saving up, relocation , actually getting married . and also for the future wives that are wondering the same .

haha well more than likely im going to ask the same questions. so tyler and i have talked about marriage before but now we really want to make it happen, so when he comes home for leave next month were announcing it to my mom bc shes a bit difficult to handle , we've decided to wait until his contract is over next year so we can move but get married a month or two before his contract actually ends. and we dont know yet if we want to live on or off base but we've made a savings goal ($) just in case, what did you and your husband decide to do?

@madibug96, no we dont want to move to an apartment yet we want to wait until he's stationed somewhere else so we dont have to pack up nd move a few months later. but hes hoping to get either Hawaii, Germany or Colorado

Okay cause if his Contract was over that would mean he's getting out. so he's reenlisting? that's nice. personally my husband and I only dated for 3 months and then just got hitched and I moved to NC with him so we didn't have a savings goal or anything, but I definitely recommend living off base if base housing is more expensive than out in town, here it is. but you have to remember about the pet fees and other deposits for out in town. we never had to worry about packing up and moving cause my husband is maintenance on a jet that's only located here. but Hawaii I'd expensive and I've tried to find houses there if we ever got stationed there and I couldn't and Germany I would recommend living on base, I don't really know the stipulations on housing in other countries. but always remember that even if you get stationed somewhere else before moving in together you could still get sent somewhere else. it's always a lingering possibility unless his job us kind of similar to my husband's in the aspect of it only being in one place.

@madibug96, oh yea forgot to mention that , he wants to serve for 20 years, and that's also why we want to save bc once we marry our BHA won't kick in for like 2-3 months bc of paperwork but we know that if we go over sea our BHA will be adjusted to where we are stationed.

Okay so he wants to retire out. and idk how army works but our BAH kicked in the month we got married. of course for you to get BAH and BAS he needs to be out of the barracks and have his meal card turned in. also, your BAH adjusts wherever you go. I know in CT it's like $3000 and here we get like $1200

yea he says that he wants to serve 20 yr but if he gets deployed and comes back in one peice and no ptsd then he'll go the full 30. and hes going to stay with a buddy of his when he turn in all the paperwork and leaves the barracks and I'll be staying at my mom's until we move
