ADVICE PLEASE...
Im 19+2 weeks.
Friday I went to the doctors because my bump had been hurting a lot. Feeling really bruised & sore esp when I move around/walk and not like it has at all before. I've had the stretching pains before and they were more just at the sides/bottom of bump. The doctor checked my urine, BP & HR -All normal. Then she tried to hear baby with a stethoscope but she couldn't hear anything. She said it happens sometimes. Obviously this has worried me a lot! She said if the pain gets any worse to go straight to A&E. It's not worse but it's the same & im feeling sick on & off. I don't know whether to go to A&E to just make sure everything is okay. I don't know what to do. I feel a bit silly if I go because I'm not bleeding or anything & I know there's lots of pressure on A&E at the moment.

Why didn't the midwife use Doppler? I have a stethoscope at home to listen to the heart beat myself, most of the time I can find it, but not when she is lying close to my spine, only when her chest is close to the surface of my bump. I'd go to a&e, its not silly, you ate entitled to some of their time to check everything!

It was a doctor I saw as the midwife is only in 1 day a week. Could you hear baby at 19+2?

I would go in and ask them to check you out hun as it's better to be safe than sorry, if everything is fine that's even better and you can feel a bit more relaxed and reassured, it's not fair to leave you as you are with that information and no follow up. I'm 35 weeks +3 days and have not been able to find baby's heartbeat with a stethoscope personally, but I'd be concerned too and I'd definitely go and get checked out. x

I had this, a lot! I'm now 35 weeks but everything I coughed or walked or stretched it felt like a bruise and especially when she lay near it it hurt a lot it made me feel ill, but it's totally normal and nothing to worry about if you feel like you want to get checked out then do, but it's Upto you xxx
