Yeah the hospital I had my son at made us go to the city to get his which you have to pay for it. I honestly haven't even gotten it

Where I live the hospital will give you the papers to fill out but you still have to either mail it on or go into the office and it cost $20.

Wtf that's crazy. In my state the first one is free, then after that if it's lost or stolen you have to pay. crazy!

@atlas, @lovebuggg2016 @yvette1416 @mommakaz I got a letter in the mail too. and they sent it back and told me to go get it notarized. I don't mind paying for the birth certificate I know that it costs money for that !

If you have a bank most will notarized for free

Hmm, all I have to do is fill the paper work out, mail it in with a cashiers check, and I'll get hers. I just keep forgetting. What do you have to get notarized?

In Los Angeles we just go to the county where we had our baby, and get the birth certificate. You can go through a third party, and have a form notarized but thats alot of extra work. If you have the time go down to your county office, and bring some type of ID

The hospital birth certificate is different.. You have to go to norwalk to the registration office it costs $28

Not sure if you can do it there, but here in Illinois, we just go down to the court house and give the information for the birth certificate, pay $15 and they give us it right there.
