Is it bad to pick up a 1 year old when ur pregnant? Been told not to pick my mates baby up:/

I picked my 2 year old nephew until the day I popped

I moved flat at 10 weeks pregnant 😂 I was carrying heavy boxes up 4 flights of stairs and my baby is absolutely fine 😊 they actually say you can continue to lift what you would have normally lifted before falling pregnant but if you feel pain or straining in your lower stomach, that's your body telling you to stop :) xx

Okay thank you! He can get needy and wont let me go for even a we with out crying for me to pick him up! Haha almost 18 weeks now and belly feels like its popped up over night 😀😀😀😄👼

I work with babies/toddlers and pick them up all the time! As long as you don't strain yourself! Also depends on how heavy they are... I can only pick up a number depending on how heavy they are so I don't strain!

I have a toddler who is a big two year old height wise. I have to pick her up all the time

I would have thought its fine, as like @suzie80 said, some have other children, and also I've worked with pregnant women in nurseries, and they picked kids up all day long :)

Yeah i didnt think it would be much of a problem to think there's mums out there with more than one child. Haha, thank you ladiess❤️

You'll know if u shouldn't u will get pain and I have taught her to walk more herself but have to lift into car or high chair etc. She was in hospital few weeks back and I had to carry her about to console her. I hurt my back though so I try to only lift when I have to, bend legs down and down carry away from my body

They say not to do heavy lifting...but I assume picking up a 1 year old isnt classified as heavy lifting. I think they say anything over 2 stone is a no go xx
