How much would it be if I wanted to change my sons middle name? His name is Kyren Drew right now but…

it doesn't cost much. to change my sons last name(or any thing with his name) you have to order the papers and basically pay what you did to get his birth certificate. in Illinois its $15 for one.

@Kelseys that's not expensive at all! well I have his social already so I might have to call the social security office

call the court house, and ask for papers to change the name of your son. I just called Monday to add my husband(my sons father) to his birth certificate and on the papers it asks if I want to change my sons First,middle, and last name on his birth certificate. I also have to have my husband fill out a paper agreeing to adding him on and the last name change. and send $15, and once its sent in they will send the new birth certificate. once you get the new birth certificate then call social security and have them change the name on there too.

I don't know what state you're in but when I change my daughter's last name it was $50 to change her birth certificate and I didn't pay anything to change your Social Security card

but where I live it took me over a year to get it all changed because I'm not with her dad anymore and he had to sign paperwork agreeing that the name was okay and then they were saying that they needed a bunch of extra things for me to change her social but it didn't cost anything

@mybabyloves well that makes me feel good. I don't mind spending $100 on it. I think that's pretty reasonable. a year is so long!! I'm going to call tomorrow! @kelseys

yeah the only reason that it took me so long is in the beginning with the name change her dad was helping me and then when I try to do her social security card they wanted more information that was harder for me to get because I had no contact with him at all at that point. And I had to go into the Social Security office to get her new card and every time I went they told me that I needed additional information that they hadn't told about me about the time before and it was almost a 2 hour drive to the Social Security Office, I ended up going 4 times. but once I got everything approved I got her card within 5 days
