If your gonna pay 1000 dollars for a baby shower it would make more sense to just buy the stuff you need for baby, you would prolly save money just getting your own stuff

To me that's a lot. I would never think to get an event planner for a shower. I would spend $500 max and that's only because my apt isn't big enough so I'd need to rent a place

I honestly did pay anything, everything was done by my mom and sister... But I don't think you should pay any where near that! 😫 babies are to expensive as is.

baby showers are typically thrown for the expecting mother not planned by the expecting mother. You should only have to show up.

I didn't pay for my baby shower at all, my sister and cousin threw it for me and i just showed up. I told them not to outdo themselves because I wanted the presents to equal more than what they spent on the shower. It was worth it though. Have someone plan it for you so you dont have to come outta pocket.

I think it's your preference. If you can afford it go all out. I don't have anyone that can throw mine. So if I do it it will be something small.

my mom is throwing mine and im not paying anything . i do know my mom wouldnt pay that much for a baby shower . thats so much stuff you can buy for the baby buuuuut its your baby shower so its really your preference and if you can afford it , go for it . i just think an event planner and whatnot is kinda extreme .

@mommynae, I think it's whatever you want. I'm the same way....if I want something done I want it done the way I would like it. I'm just particular about things and sounds like you are, too. I wouldn't have had anyone to throw me one (my mom & best friend have both passed) so if I wanted one, I would've thrown it myself. You must have more energy than I do though! I opted not to have one simply because I didn't want to deal with another event. I'm soooo tired I would rather spend the time relaxing, but I'm happy for you if you got what you wanted!!

its all up to you. I've always heard someone else throws it for you.. I'm not sure how much was spent on mine

$1000 is not a lot especially if you have someone planning it for you saves you he head ache. That's actually a great deal.

And don't listen to these people talking about that's a lot and that your paying it so what !!! Your money your party your baby. I like things my way and my way only so I'm planning and paying for the shower on our own(boyfriend and I) I wish I came across this $1000 but I'm doing mine in a park and so far we racked up on $300 worth of stuff and still have a lot more to get.
