what happens when your not breastfeeding? what happens to the milk? my breast are really sore today.

Your supply will go down. Eventually dry up. If you're so sore you should definitely pump. Freeze it.

You may dry up or hit a weak milk period, its always good to have stored breastmilk in case of emergency.

You never know, always better to be safe then sorry. Also it's good when you aren't with the baby and he/she needs to be fed. You just need freezer safe breastmilk containers.

my baby passed away saturday at 34 weeks... i just don't need the milk or want to mess with it just cause it makes me more emotional knowing it was for her... just wanted to know if i leave it in my breast if it willgo away or what? @mommakaz

20 weeks. I've tried ice packs for about 20 minutes so they don't get too hard and hot

@minnie_, it's helping with the discomfort and swelling but I really am not sure of what else to do after that

I'm sorry for both of your losses. I had a still birth before this pregnancy. I had to put ice and took warm baths with coconut oil. it took well over three-four months for my milk to stop producing
