You just have to do it and eventually he will realize ok my cries aren't helping me get out of here and he will stop! Same with the crib transitioning

@emkasting, our daughter sleeps with us as well. sometimes ya got to do what ya got to Do. and I dang sure am not about to let my child cry it out. that's just flat out mean. I can't do it. so with us she will sleep until she's a little older and used to being put down

I completely agree. I do not agree with the cry it out method, at ALL. Especially for a newborn! All the cry it out method teaches a baby is that they can't trust you! They cry as their only means of communication and if those cries are ignored it sends a horrible message. The one and only reason I don't want him in bed with us is cause I'm worried about SIDS :/ but when he's in bed I don't have any covers over me at all and I of course lay him flat on his back. Just makes me so nervous 🙁 @nicemmcha2015

@emkasting, exactly! ! idk why anyone would do that to a baby who doesn't understand why you won't console them. I know what you mean... it makes me nervous as well.

It makes me sad to even think about! Any time my baby cries I'm right there. I want him to know that he can rely on me. When he gets older and starts to learn "manipulation" or whatever, like that crying will get him what he wants then ill address it then but I don't think I'll ever use the cry it out method. To each their own I suppose but I'll never agree with it. @nicemmcha2015 I'm glad you understand!

I bought a co sleeper bed and that helped a lot! She slept in that until she was 3 months then we switched to a bassinet then to her crib at 4 months. She still sleeps in bed with me pretty often but I love it!

Ooh I'm glad you like it! I was wondering if anyone had experience using one. I'm planning on getting one since it's looking like he won't sleep anywhere else but with us haha @santistevanmommie

I think it really helped the transition. Cause once she went to the bassinet it wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it was gonna be
