That's hard to tell. You can stay dilated at a certain point for weeks. I was stuck at a 1 for a month up until after I got to the hospital for my water breaking. But I've also known people jump within hours.

@shelbyjo, are there thing's I should watch for ? they literally didn't tell me anything!

ive been struggling with contractions since 18 weeks have had two shots to stop them , medication percribed to take daily (ended up being allergic to it )

and at 28 weeks they gave me a steroid to speed up his lungs ...

so with all this happening them just sending me home and not saying anything has me going crazy !

I'd keep track of your contractions if you are having any and watch to see if they get closer together increasing in length and pain. Keep an eye out for your mucus plug but also keep in mind that for as far along as you are it can still regenerate. For some women they get diarrhea a few days before. And of course your water breaking which can either come out in a gush or a trickle like you peed yourself but with all this in mind some women feel all of this and some don't and feel other things everyone is different but those were some of the things that I could tell I was getting close!

Oh and the baby drops in your belly and you few constant pressure down there like never before but again that could happen weeks to hours before

sounds almost identical to what i went thru at 31 weeks with my 4th.. out of nowhere i was getting contractions non stop! And at first i kind of brushed it off as bh until hrs later when it still didnt let up.. They werent really painful but uncomfortable.. By this time it was late at night and i decidedd to sleep it off hoping itll be gone by morning.. Nope.. They kept on comin.. Thankfully i had a drs appt that morning.. And felt like total crap. i knew sumthin was up. I get sent to the hospital and was told i was in pre term labor.. A dr checked to see if i was dialating .. i wasnt but while checkin me she disturbed sumthin in there and seconds later i feel a gush.. And im freakin out! she tried to say it was just the lube.. i said no.. It was a big gush... Ended up being my water.. It was leaking.. And on top of that I passed a clot as big as a golf ball.. Well that got me a 1 month stay in the hosp until i delivered her at 35.1 .. Healthy as can be.. Sorry so long.. What im tryna say is be careful and get it checked if they dont stop.. because it could be pre term labor.. I feel for ya.. Hope its nothin n u get answers!
