I always cook my food slow. everybody in my family does as well.

Well its not meat so I don't think it would make too much of a difference. The longer something is in the crock generally makes is softer like fall off the bone or a really moist fruit. The faster you cook it the tougher it could end up but if it's a bread crusted dessert then you might like it better that way
