I have wondered the same thing. I remember when I was in high school my mom had my name on the cable bill but I never knew why

it's actually illegal but people do it when they've already distorted their own credit and can't do it themselves. it's actually ridiculous to set your child up like that!

Because the dang parents have bad credit, and they use the kids name. My family did that to me somany times, and ordered the stupidest crap. My grandpa bought a bunch of crap in 1994, and they sent me a bill. LMAO I was born in 1989, so at 5 I order from fingerhut.

it's not necesarilly because the parents have bad credit. I have a friend who does it to build his daughters credit so she won't have to when she is older. he messed up his credit when he was young and after fixing it he started on his daughters.
