my dad and aunt are coming to town next week. I'm so nervous to get to know them more. I feel like I don't know how to act around them...they are my family. I should have all these stories and fun memories with them but I don't. They love me unconditionally without knowing me. But when I do I start loving these strangers back?

It's okay to feel the way you do, especially if they haven't been around most of your life. I'm in the same situation with my dad he hasn't been around most of my life & when I see him I don't sit there and pretend like everything is okay because it's not you know. Don't feel like you have to be extra nice just because their your relatives, be yourself and don't let anyone make you feel obligated to do or say anything you don't want to
