I need yalls opinions on washing baby clothes. Obviously I'm going to wash used things but do you…

A lot of people say to wash everything before they wear it. I didn't do that because I didn't want to take the tags off and wash it if he would end up not wearing it. Didn't seem to make a difference!

I did because you never know who or what touched it in a factory, or just people touching it walking by them.

I'd wash at least through 6 mos, blankets, receiving blakets, burp clothes, wash clothes, towels, any thing your gonna be using on baby right away, and because some babys out grow new born so quick I'd go up to 6mos.

Yes wash even the new! you never know whose touched it or how the chemicals from new clothing will react with baby's skin. @amber188

I think new stuff should still be washed because you never know who or what has touched them at the stores, packaging place, or where they were made, maybe there were chemicals or something. baby's skins are really sensitive. and at the store different people are always touching them, or falling on the floor, sometimes even returned.

I would especially wash new things. As someone who Used to work retail, the people who make the clothing usually use chemicals on the clothes to help them not wrinkle during shipping. Not to mention you have people touching them all day everyday, and more often than not they'll be dropped on the floor at least once and just get put back on the rack. Used things the people usually wash before they give them to you but I would wash those too.

also some brands (old navy with their denim is a good example) use REALLY strong dye on their clothing and they tell you to wash them before wearing them because if not it'll rub off on your skin!

I still washed all the new clothing I bought, cause you never know if they have been tried on before or not. Plus the dyes,

definitely wash new things. or at least the stuff you know your babies going to be wearing soon.

I washed everything but the only clothes I washed were size newborn and 0-3 months.
