Any one here have to give birth without bd present due to them working out of state or being deployed and things like that? How was it ? Until when did they not see the baby? How did the bay react once they did see them? And what advice would you give someone that will be experiencing the same thing?

I had to deliver my second with out my husband there because he deployed two weeks prior. It was four months before he got to meet her. She was OK with him, but he was gone her whole first year of her life so they never bonded like he did with my first. we're divorced now, but she definitely loves her daddy. It actually took him a few years to really bond with her which always irritated me. But that was all him, nothing to do with her

That makes me soo sad and gives me hope at the same time lol as far as the bonding. But being that it will be the first child for both of us I feel really conflicted about the whole situation because it's a good opportunity money wise but no money in the world will buy back the chance to see your FIRST child be born.. And being a new mother I'm not sure I'll be equipped to deal with parent life "alone" . I'd have family support but it would be different😞 @shish

I know exactly what u mean. I'm not a materialistic person at all. I didn't care about the money even though it was a huge amount. I begged for him to quit the national guard (even though u can't do that lol) I was just so beside myself I couldn't function. But in my situation it ended up being a good thing in the end. I found out he cheated on my with my best friend before he deployed so I left him as soon as he got back. So I did just fine parenting alone. I highly doubt you'll have that problem, but you'll be just fine. I just clung to my family for support. I know it's not the same but at least u won't be completely alone. I can definitely say picking up some hobbies or a job or something to pass the time will help tremendously. Whatever u do, don't just sit at home. The waiting will kill u. The baby will be fine though I promise. Kids r resilient!
