Is it normal to be dilated at 36 weeks? I'm only 1 1/2 centimeters but is that "average"?

I was 1cm dialated frm 37wks to 41wks... When they told me i was 1cm i started to freak out thinking i would have a baby soon.. But nope.. She came at 41wks n 5days

Oh okay, I know nothing could change for awhile, I just didn't know if it was too early for that. My doctor told me it was good to be dilated already because it could mean I didn't have much longer but I wasn't sure if it was "normal" for most people @emiliasmommy15

I think it is honestly it jst depends on the person and pregnancy.... I had to schedule an induction but my daughter decided to come on her own the same night i went in to be induced

I was 1 cm 40% effaced at 30 weeks and had my baby girl at 36

I'm 1 1/2 and 70% effaced. @alexzandriar

I was that at about 35 weeks, so anything could happen , never know(: I had dull cramps, and contractions for 4 days, then loss my mucus plug (with blood) for two days, then I finally had contractions that were consistent for 2 hrs, went in and I was 4 cm and 90% then had her 7 hours later, good luck(:
