so my husband asked his main boss yesterday about him taking off for when I have the baby.... his boss literally tells him that since he hasn't been there a year yet (he will be there a year in august) he doesn't get family time of leave, but if he wanted to be could fill out for vacation, BUT still get pointed and lose his job. like REALLY he wants to be there when our child is born can you not understand that!!! so needless to say he will be there when she is born but let's hope I have her on Friday (he works 12 hour shifts so he gets a 3 day weekend) so he only has to miss 1 day of work for when we come home. such shit!!!
ok. He has to keep of his stubs anyone for legal reasons. thank you @arivera64 @erinflaherty818
ill have to tell him, maybe he doesn't know. we're both younger first time parents living with his dad so we're still trying to adjust to throwing a baby into all this.
@babydouglas, once he's there for the year, he can apply for FMLA. It's federal, if they meet the standards @arivera64 mentioned, they have to comply...the whole point is to get the time without fear of losing your job. My husband took it.
He works at manufacturing company called "expanded solutions" not sure if they do FMLA or not. @arivera64. they had to switch to 12 hours shift due to the shortage of people working there. If they treated their employees better they may not point out. If they don't get 48 hours a week they get pointed... @erinflaherty818
FMLA depends on how many people are working for the company and how many HOURS, not necessarily a calendar year to my knowledge. I could be wrong on that though.
You're welcome! Good luck and young or not, take no shit! 💪🏼
