•no judgement• I'm interested to know why some moms/parents decide to tell their children up front that there is no Santa, Easter Bunny, Toothfairy, ect. Why? What are your reasonings for it? I'm interested to know, because even before I was planning on having a child, I would day dream about the holidays and how wonderful it's going to be watching my kids wake up and be so excited over what Santa brought them. Maybe it's because I'm the biggest Christmas fan of all time! Haha. I seriously count down all year round, and start Christmas shopping in October. I remember going to school with two girls who parents told them that Santa wasn't real, and they tried to tell the whole class. I swore to myself that if and when my kids stop believing, I will make sure they don't tell other kids and ruin the magic of it all for them. But really. I'm interested to know why some moms decided not to do the whole "Santa" thing..

I'm not doing it because it's unimportant and not the reason for celebrating Christmas. I think they can still celebrate without buying into the whole Santa idea.

@lalamichelle0707, that of course, is true. But, I remember my family would read the story of Baby Jesus being born, and we would go to the midnight service at church, and also do the Santa thing. I think there can be equal parts and still keep the true meaning of Christmas alive. But, it's just interesting to see others views! 😊

We are a religious family and still make sure our kids know the reason behind the holidays. We try to factor in Jesus as much as possible so they know what we are really celebrating! I love holidays and want my kids to enjoy it to the fullest because when they grow up it won't be so magical, until they have kids and get to experience it for/with them. My husband hates it cause I go all out for every holiday 😬 I don't see the harm in letting them pretend until they are old enough to know that those things are real but are just for fun. Following cause I'm interested to know as well.

@mommy_faith, I'm seriously the biggest Christmas fan I know! Haha. I'm happy to find someone else like me! 😬. November 1st, the tree goes up! Haha. I told my sister the other day that when I die, I want my funeral to be all Christmassy. Christmas music played, and all! 😂. But seriously. Yes! It's just so magical, I love the idea of Santa!

My older boys 8 and 7 found the presents I bought and I had to tell them since there wasn't any other excuse I could come up with at the time, but I told them that there little sister still believes in Santa so we can't tell her so since then they help make the cookies, and help put the oatmeal outside for the reindeers so it's a big thing for them to help me for there sister

@ilovemybabyluvs4, that's sweet! When I finally found out at 8 years old, my littlest sister was 5, and still fully believed. Keeping the magic alive for her was just as fun.

I never knew "Santa" I grew up knowing all my presents were from my mom and grandparents and Christmas was still just as exciting as it was for kids that knew Santa. I just see no point. They find out eventually presents come from parents anyways

My husband never had the joy of believing in Santa or any of that his mom had 11 kids so it wasn't big in there house so for us to do it for ours is everything, he's never had a pinata for his birthday either and being Mexican that's a must so this year I'm going to surprise him with 1 with money and candy in it lol

i love christmas too but i believe this generation fantasizes to much. kinda like the whole princess and Prince thing. every women believes that knight in shinning armor is going to show up but in the end the only shinning knight in armor is christ. No women will find that. thats why there is some many relationship problems. in my opinion. christimas is about giving not about santa. thats why i wont be doing santa. i am still going to have my tree and the lights and the gifts but no santa.🎅 just giving and the birth of our Lord and savior.

I love Christmas too! It is a magical time of year. For me, the magical part is the crisp weather, searching for the perfect tree to decorate, Christmas lights on houses and driving around neighborhoods searching for your favorite... That and time spent with family. Besides that, Christmas season is chaotic and so not joyful when in public. Christmas shopping turns in to a nightmare before even entering a store. From parking to checking out, you're bound to run into someone who thinks their time is more important than yours. I hate watching people acting rude with the customer service. It can just get very ugly and so non Christian like. Pictures with Santa are fun and the gift or two from gnus mysterious person is fun, but I don't think I'll make huge deal of it. Also, I think it's important that kids understand not everyone has over the top Christmases. I would hate it if my child made someone else, in school for example, feel bad because they didn't have a giant tree full of presents.

I never "believed" just because my mom never told me and at a very young age(4/5) I found the presents in the closet. I won't be telling my children to believe in them.because of our religious views. and it really isn't real, so I don't want to tell them.something is when it isn't. I was also one of those kids in class that told others Santa wasn't real.
