Ladies, I need advice ASAP!
Ladies,
I need advice ASAP!
I applied for a job and sent them my resume last week and now they want to meet for coffee with me today to sort of interview me! Problem is, I didn't tell them I am 23 weeks pregnant. In fact, I didn't tell them I am pregnant at all. Should I have told them? Should I call the last now and disclose that before we meet at 4:15? It's a spontaneous meet and greet I just found out about a half hour ago. I'm just freaking out right now!

My bump is pretty large too so it's going raise attention!

You don't have to tell them you're pregnant nor do they have a right to ask

@bqueen, I know I don't have to, but should I have? Will they feel some type a way when I walk in with my big belly bulging out? Sorry I'm panicking, I'm just so nervous! Applying for jobs is new for me when pregnant but I'm really unhappy with where I am at currently!

Right what @bqueen said. And if they already have this in motion and find out you're pregnant then cancel anything with you, they can be in trouble.

I don't think you needed to disclose it in the beginning but I think it's fair to them for you to talk about it - especially since it's obvious. And not to be argumentative with the other poster but they can't get in trouble for not hiring someone after an interview.

They can't discriminate again you for being pregnant , I never told my job and I kept getting bigger and bigger and they never asked and I never said anything . I just told them about two weeks ago that I was leaving for maternity for the summer and they said ok and that was that . I was pregnant when they hired me

mph innybinz, @littlesugarplum123 thank you! That makes me feel better! I'm definitely open to talking about it because I want them to know that it's not going to effect my ability to work besides my maternity leave. They have a childcare at the workplace so I plan to send my baby there when I go back to work. That is partially why I picked this particular place because I want my baby girl near by! It's also right down the street from my house so it would be super convenient!

@agastinamarie, that's awesome! Definitely a sign they are family friendly. Good luck with the interview!

NO. don't bring it up unless they do. just because they can't discriminate just because you are pregnant they can find "another" reason not to hire you.
