So even though I'm giving my baby up for adoption, I decided I would pump so baby can still have my milk. Her adoptive parents were just going to get her donated breastmilk, so I was like wth, why not mine. Does anyone have any pumping tips? I've heard it's really difficult.

I pumped for 40 days while daughter was in nicu. It's hard. But if you do it every 2 to 3 hours your flow should stay consistent. Even at night. It's just like getting up with the baby.

My baby wouldn't latch correctly and it caused me so much pain and made him very stressed so I started pumping exclusively. It is very difficult. I have an overflow supply of milk though so I think I'm lucky. But I drink mothers milk tea, water, and Gatorade--I've heard they all help to increase milk supply. And it's all about supply and demand so you have to pump as often as baby eats. So every few hours. It can be very tiring and stressful, but if it's important to you stick with it. My baby is two weeks and I'm finally starting to get the hang of it and it's becoming much easier.

I've heard to keep a similar diet to when you were pregnant. And all the foods that gave you heartburn when you were pregnant, avoid them because they will make your baby gassy through the milk.
