SMP confusion: HR says £106 a week but government site says £139 or 90%
can someone explain SMP to me please.
I no I get 12 weeks pay from my employers.. but I've had a letter from my HR department saying I'll only get £106 a week SMP however when I go on the government website it says you either get £139 or 90% of your weekly earnings which ever is less and the £139 is a LOT less...
I'm so stressed.... looks like I won't be taking much time off at all! 😭😭😭

It should be 130somerhing... that's what my letter said!

could the fact that your employer is paying you affect the amount? if so I'm sure that would only be whilst you got the 12 pay and then it should go but I could be completely wrong. worth just asking your boss about. I sat down with mine as I had no idea about it all and she went through everything with me. for the first 6 weeks you get 90% of your weekly wage and then either that again or £139 for the remaining 33 weeks, whichever is the lowest x
