My hubby doesn't understand that it's not that I don't want to be upstairs with the baby around his family, that it's that everyone always wants to be up in his face when I'm breastfeeding and I'm not comfortable with that. He's going to be 2 weeks old on Wednesday, I'm still adjusting to being a new mom and I deserve the alone time to do that.

I know how you feel, some people don't understand that we really need alone time to bond with our newborn. being around other people during the first few weeks can make that really difficult and overwhelming.

@lkmama, especially when everyone has their little comments about how I'm doing things with him. Like back off. My hubby says "who cares what they say" it's not that I care about what they say, it's that I'm dealing with enough and don't need that in my ear too on top of that especially when it's very very hard to defend myself without them seeing it as being disrespectful

I can't stand when people do that, it's a difficult time as it is and people need to remember that you are the mom and they really do need to back off. you don't need that added stress. I am so sorry you are going through that, and you are doing the right thing by doing what's best for you.
