Anyone else having problems with heir newborn sleeping? I'll put her in her bassinet and she will cry and cry, but once I lay her on my chest, she will sleep. I know that this can cause pr blend but I don't want to let her just "cry it out" I tried swaddling her then laying her down, putting her bassinet right next to me, she's just not happy unless she's sleeping on you . Any suggestions?

That's how my daughter was for a while, like 2 months and she finally grew out of it. So if you're able to just let it play out I'm sure they will grow out of it.

my son did that for the first month or 2 and I put in in his glider and he slept fine. and now he is 6 months old and has been sleeping in his bed since about February. @alexzandriar

You're right to not use the cry it out method. Especially as a newborn. The cry it out method is meant to teach older babies basically not to manipulate to get what they want. A newborn cries as their only means of communication so if you deny them that they'll never learn to trust

She isn't secure being away from your body yet. She is used to being inside you. That's a big adjustment. Let her sleep on you, it's such a sweet, short period and then she will be all independent. Enjoy it.

She probably likes your body heat. I "preheat" the bassinet. Put a heating pad in the bed and get the sheet warm. Just make sure to remove it before laying baby down!
