4 to 6 hrs. 4 hourse being ideal. The good thing is that breastmilk will smell sour just like any other milk when it's spoiled. I also say, when in doubt...throw it out.

Yes go with Medela. Also if you have Kaiser you can use their KP.org informative section. I haven't breast fed but I plan to very soon :)
