I've had my baby shower planned for TWO MONTHS. I've reminded people weekly of the day and time. I invited around 35-40 people. 12 people show up. 12. Not even some of my closest people showed up. Oh well. 😡
@babymama85, I totally understand. When I had my wedding, our total "yes" RSVP was 127 out of the 155 invites we sent out. Two people from the "yes" just didn't show on the day of. Food alone was $140 a plate. I flat out told them I didn't appreciate it... "We just forgot" , they said. Their uneaten plates alone were $280, let alone their favors and everything else. Luckily I only had two not show. I know some people who have had lots of people not show. I'd be livid.
@jennatess I know....it just upsets me some of the closest people to me couldn't even say "I can't come" they just didn't show.
That happened to me as well. I sent out probably 25 invites and did an open invite to our church which was in the church bulletin for 2 weeks and still only 5 people showed up... I was a little frustrated. I had a number for rsvp as well... People just don't rsvp anymore.
@babymama85, ohh. I recently read an party etiquette book and it had a chapter on personal invitations. It pretty much said that unless they have a personal invite, with an RSVP card or number to respond to, then we can't hold them at fault. It pretty much said that Facebook and Evites aren't considered "real" in people's eyes. 😔
@Jennatess, well, the thing is nobody ever told me for sure they would be there. I kept posting it and nobody would ever say a word about it. 🙁
Exactly @fifimama mine was the same way only my sister and cuzzin showed up at mine and my cousin in law and my daugther
How many RSVP'd once the invitations went out?? I'd be calling each one that RSVP'd "yes", and let them know we had favors and food ordered for them..
That's when you find out who supports you
