I got bit by a mosquito .... I don't understand how people think no pregnant woman can get but . there are hundreds of them ... I can't kill every one ... only the ones I see . Now I get to worrie about my son having zinka ...
Yeah because no one will ever know if one of the mosquitos has traveled here until someone gets bit here in the US so I guess everyone is still caution about it @cubanese it's always good to stay on your feet about stuff like this though
Yes I understand what you're saying now @dcb012 but birth defects can happen to the baby or effect the baby in some kind of way and I think that's what she was worried about when she posted this picture
No but babies do get shrunken heads because my baby had a small head and they were concerned that I had gotten the zika virus. So yes it does effect the baby not just the mom!!! @school b012
Yeah that's what I meant @cubanese but when I said there hasn't been any cases I meant it as the mosquitoes in the US aren't carrying the virus I know there's people here who have it because they left the country
No @leslierojas they don't lol. They get microcephaly..... The mother gets Zika. Zika is the illness which in turn CAUSES microcephaly. The baby is not going to get flu-like symptoms and a fever in the womb. It's no different than getting preeclampsia in the mom and the baby slowing development. The baby did not get preeclampsia
Actually the babies do get it that's why they say pregnant women should be extra careful because babies can have birth defects if you get bit @dcb012 but like everyone is saying we don't have to worry because there hasn't been any cases about it in the US
No one here has actually gotten Zika from a mosquito. I've been bitten too. I freaked out also. Then I looked up info on it. You should google it to make you feel better and call your dr too. I am sure you're okay!
First, your son can't get the Zika virus, you do. 2nd unless you're in an area with many cases your chances are slim. 3rd, the CDC is making it to be a crazy thing that they're not even testing for. If you're out of the first trimester and not having Zika symptoms they won't even test you for it.
