I love my boyfriends daughter but I HATE when she comes over. It puts such a toll on our relationship. I sometimes have to beg my boyfriend to stay home with my kids and I on weekends but the minute he finds out his daughter is coming for the weekend, he all of a sudden turns into a different person. Like he thinks he's father of the year all of a sudden. Not like it's a bad thing, I'm glad he spends time with her when she's here. I just wish i didn't have to beg him to spend time with my kids the way he spends time with her. He sees it like since he lives with my kids full time, he always sees them. Which is true, but just because you SEE them doesn't mean you spend quality time with them. On top of that, whenever she comes around, he automatically makes me feel like the evil stepmother as soon as she walks through the door. Like no matter what I say to her, he gets so defensive. I'm sorry if I'm not gonna let his kid come into my house and jump on my furniture and do things that I don't even let my kids do. She thinks she owns the place when she comes over and that's not okay. I understand he wants to be the "cool dad" and have fun when she's around but he needs to discipline her as well and if he doesn't want to, I will. Simple as that. I just don't know how much longer I can deal with being made felt like this. We've talked about it and it still happens every single time. I think I'm reaching my limit pretty soon. You can feel the tension build as soon as she walks through the door and I'm over it.
