I know everyone is entitled to their own parenting styles and opinions and views but I literally can not see myself just letting my child cry it out, especially as a newborn. Maybe after a few months but less than a month old? No way.
People tend to forget that birth and transitioning from the womb to the outside world is technically a traumatic experience, and newborns still get easily frightened by their surroundings and sometimes they just want/need to be held. I personally can't see myself denying my child that. If I can comfort her and help make that transition a less scary one then I'll do anything I need to. I'm her MAMA. You cannot spoil a baby, especially not a newborn.
Also I would get really irritated/heartbroken hearing her cry and knowing I could easily make her stop. I'm a pushover lol.

Please note that this isn't directed to anyone on here. My SiL made a post about letting her 2-week-old cry it out and it made me so sad.

Me either, but sometimes you can't get them to stop crying, and you have to lay them in a crib or bassinet, or safe place and take a few mins away from them or you are going to freak out. I agree you can't spoil a newborn and 2 weeks is way to soon to let a baby cry it out.

@smiles2 I can definitely understand letting them cry if you're getting frustrated!! I would much rather have her cry for a few minutes than end up losing my mind. It just upset me I think bc she said she was letting her cry it out when she specifically just wanted to be held. Like...she wants attention. She wants to be cuddled and embraced. And she's just letting her cry...maybe I'm just a hormonal pushover lol but it broke my heart.
