How do God Parents work? My mother never chose any for me and by the time I was 10 years old, I was without two parents. The courts didn't know where to put me and since I didn't have parents and eventually didn't have grandparents either, I'm not sure I ended up in a place my mother would want me to be. Anyway, I know Catholics choose godparents but can you have godparents for your kid and not be Catholic? I don't want my son to end up with people I don't approve of him being with if something were to happen to my husband and I.

I have a God mother for both of my kids in case something happened to me or their dads. and grandma. all I did was write a letter saying who it was and her Co tact info and get it notorized

God parents hold the responsibility of helping your child's path with Jesus. you have to put in your will who you would like as a guardian in any case something were to happen to you
