My little mans ankles turn inward. he runs sideways and gets pretty yucky blisters on his feet of he wears shoes for too long. He was diagnosed low muscle tone when he was a baby but they said it would correct itself. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Ask your dr, he might need to be put in braces for a couple months to help straighten them out. My younger brother had something similar, he wore the ankle braces for 3 months and they are completely straight now and he has no more problems

@ashsloan, Thank you, i think you are right here. I will definitely be making an appointment for him Monday. it seems a bit extreme for physical therapy at this point... which is what others have suggested. how long ago was your brother's issues?

@babyrossmommy, oh that's nice to hear!! he's 2 1/2. So far, I've only noticed it get worse. How old was your nephew when it corrected?

@showersoverflowers, he is 6 now and he got the braces I believe when he was 21 months but he probably could have and should have gotten them sooner, his mom waited until it was to the point he was falling down with every step he took, it was pretty bad

@ashsloan, oh wow! yeah he's definitely a more clumsy little person but is able to run and walk alright for the most part

@showersoverflowers, then it is possible that they could straighten themselves out but it never hurts to ask a doctors professional opinion on things like this.

@ashsloan, for sure. either way I am planning on talking with her about it but I just wanted to get some precedent info before going in. I seem to develop amnesia whenever I bring him in

@babyrossmommy, thanks for the reassurance. its been a long haul for him. I just want to see him be able to do whatever he wants in the world.

@ashsloan, @babyrossmommy so I send his biological father a message expressing my concerns and that I would like to follow up his his pediatrician. Know what he says? "you probably just have to buy better shoes. I don't think its a big deal" He also called me stupid for following up with a speech and physical therapist when he was a baby because, in his opinion, there was nothing wrong with him.

@ashsloan, we have an agreement that we both have to agree on whether or not I bring him to the doctor. which I really don't know why because he only sees him 8 days of the month, doesn't pay child support, doest pay for insurance, and was pretty well absent for the majority of his life thus far. I don't see what he can do if I do bring him in though
