There should be another metal piece that's like the one you have the straps connected to. The one you have it attached to now is an extra one.

Ohh ok so how do I move that long string thing in the middle to adjust ? Lol @jmw24815

I don't remember a string I just know you move the straps through the holes to adjust and secure it with the metal thingy
