I just made it very clear to my mother that I'm done! I'm not worried about my feelings or anything because I'll get over not being around them I went 7.5 months without them and my entire first pregnancy. (5 years ago) I'm only worried about my children because they are too little to understand why they don't get invites to things that are supposed to be family things (holidays and birthdays) it's bad enough that we don't have any sort of relationship with my husband's side of the family. and now we won't with mine either. My sister crossed the line and I'm not going to forgive and forget what she said to me... And threatening my husband was completely uncalled for... So I'm done! I will give my children what the want and need without having my family. It's not like they notice anyways

I cut my mum out of my almost 5 year old son's life when I was hospitalized at 28 weeks. I was told I had to deliver at 29 weeks and when my husband told my mum the news (because she needed to watch my big kid) she asked if I could just get an abortion instead (at 29 weeks). Sometimes life is better and easier without certain family members in it. Sad, but true. I hope things get better for you.

@kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, my mom and dad have always shown favoritism to my sister (my mom has 3 older children from previous relationships and my sister and myself from my dad) they do more for her, they do more with her children and they give them anything and everything they want. the only time in 8 years my family has really been there for me was when I went into preterm labor at 31 weeks with my last pregnancy. And now my sister made my mom choose between me and her. and of course she chose my sister. After telling me they'd help me out by taking me to my appointments until the baby is born. and Now they're not even doing that. I'm sick of having to compete with my sister and my children shouldn't have to compete with her kids. I'd rather just cut ties and move on

It really is sad, but you know what's best for you and your kids. It's not fair to them that they should have to be around ppl who treat them poorly because of favoritism :( once they're old enough to understand I'm sure they will agree you made the right choice!
