I've been wanting to get one too. I've heard many cases of it being safe to get a tattoo while breastfeeding.

Depends on the place. Some might tell you no because a bigger risk of infection. I've found a few reputable places that'll allow me to get one even tho I'm breastfeeding

Well, if you tell them you are nursing they won't do it. But I fibbed and got some while I was nursing and we are fine. It's only an issue if you get a systemic infection, that can pass through milk to baby.

personally I would wait until I was don't breastfeeding. whatever goes in your body goes into your baby's body. but I would definitely ask your Dr before hand to make sure its 100% okay for those beautiful boys.

I plan to get one for my little, too. I know what I'm getting and everything but like you I wasn't sure when would be a good time, although I would like to get it soon if I can!

My ex is a tattoo artist. I know for sure they will not tattoo you if they know you are breastfeeding. Just don't say anything lol. I would think its fine though. You can get a tattoo and donate blood right away, so breastfeeding and getting one shouldn't be an issue. Just take care of it like you normally would

@schu35, I thought you had to wait a year after getting a tattoo to donate blood. That's what my tattoo artist and my mom told me.

@marzuniversal, I asked one of the nurses and they said as long as the tattoo was done in a licensed shop you don't have to wait. Things may have changed because I haven't donated since last year.
