How can I explain to my daughter the difference between me being sorry and her being sorry? She understands when sorry needs to be said, when she trips or accidentally hits etc etc she says sorry. When she gets too rough or hits someone out of anger I make her say sorry and "give lovins" (hug and kiss). Well just now I tried to keep her from climbing in my lap on the recliner cause I have food that she can't have (burrito with hot sauce) and I accidentally made her fall down. So i tried telling her I'm sorry and I didn't mean to hurt her but she said sorry to me. She's 2.

Wouldn't worry about it. She will learn the difference soon. ☺️

I think that's just something that will take time and experience for her to understand

It is! I'm glad I've been instilling it in her for the past year. @phinnybinz

My daughter is almost 3 and does the same thing. We just keep explaining to her that she doesn't have to be sorry, she didn't do anything wrong. hopefully soon she'll understand but for now that's all we can do.
