Just wanted to mention this for all of you who are scared to cut your baby's nails: I always used to use baby clippers, but when my son was in the NICU, they taught me about baby nail files. Those were safer and worked well when he was tiny, but he isn't having that now. Now he hates it! My midwife suggested I bite his nails and at first I was scared and shocked, like, really? But I promise you, its perfectly safe, you will get the nails shorter than by using any other method, and it won't bother them. I do it from the opposite side of the hand, so turn the hand over and bite them palm facing you. No more fear of cutting their little fingers! I suggest doing it after a bath when the nails at softest.
