So I have a question and would really like some insight on what you ladies may think it is. Yesterday at my 39 week appointment, I was checked for dilation and got a surprise membrane sweep with it. Lol. I assumed the midwife was gonna check me for dilation first and THEN do the sweep but she did it all at once. I was only 1 cm and still a little thick and she said she did about a half membrane sweep because of how tight everything still was, but she said you want to do it when the cervix is still thick so it'll thin out I guess. Howver she said to expect mucus- like spotting and cramping and to come in if contractions get so bad I can't speak through them. Now, yesterday I had a little gush of the spotty mucus after the appt before I showered and I just woke up with another small little gush of it. No cramping really. Just a hard belly. I have 48 hours to find out if the sweep worked. Do you ladies think it'll progress into labor? Do you think she might have jump started something ? Really don't want an induction.
