Not so much cry it out (especially not at one week) but let them cry for 5 to 30 min while I sat next to them (10 or less if I leave the room) for a break or to let them tire out, absolutely. That way they know their crying is getting a response and being heard, but I have tried everything I know so you can cry a little. crying is one of the ways babies exercise and their only way to communicate.
i would say a week is too young unless you know baby is all good and you're super stressed out something a few minutes won't hurt but sry that age there is usually a reason they cry... they are just too young to tell you.. that's why some parents go half crazy when they have colicky babies.
i read a story about a woman who her baby had an allergy to some foods she ate and it affected the baby through her breast milk and that's why she couldn't get her baby to stop crying
@nessa_475, I didn't do the cry it out method until after my son turned one but I don't consider it him crying it out if he starts crying I'll ask what's wrong, tell him he's okay, or ask of he's done if he doesn't stop after I say those one of those 3 things or all three I let him cry til he's done which is usually less than a minute and he's done. I believe the cry it out method does more harm than help. At every first noise my son would make I'd be right there to attend to him unless I was doing something and he'd have to wait til I was finished but he never cried more than 2-3mins at the most and that's if I was busy with something else. Sometimes babies have those days where you've done everything for them and they still cry I would just deal with it until he stopped I know every mom isn't able and might have to put the baby down a few mins then come back but it hurt my heart to put my son down while he was still crying. It sucks and I've had a few sleepless nights when he was younger but it'll get better hang in there he's still learning.

I jus don't know what else to do. he's fed burped and changed and I've tried singing and rocking and nothings working. @zaysmomma @tahtahme
