👶 😄okay hubby and i are not sure what we are having but the baby girl name we have a disagreement on how its pronounced. it's daliah which is like day-leah. but he wants it to be pronouned doll-leah. so he can call her dolly which i like but i want a cute way of spelling it any suggestions

Why not just use Dahlia? That's a pretty way to spell it and people will recognize it as (doll-li-ah) because it's such a recognizable name. That way she won't go through life with people mispronouncing her name

Cause then there's how you spelled it which is like Dalilah with ought the extra L but both ways would be pretty dye-Leah or du-liah?? Lol sorry if I'm making it complicated

When I read it, my initial pronunciation was Du-liah. I think you'll run into that quite frequently with that spelling. Beautiful name though ☺️

@belly1996, 😊 theres dahlia Dal-yah(flower) and theres daliah day-leah(gentle;slender branch) i just said yes to the plant thing because u figured it is the only familiarity you may have.

The flower is pronounced (doll-yah) or if you really annunciate then it's pronounced (doll-li-ah) the only thing with that name is that its associated with the very famous crime and murder "the black dahlia" but if you don't mind that then it's a really pretty name.
